The literary community of Manipur gathered at the Manipur Press Club’s Loktak Hall today for the launch of two books by renowned author Ningombam Nando Singh. The books, titled “Manipuri Khorirolda Lannai Mityeng” and “Khong-gul Amasung Mayi,” were unveiled in a ceremony organized by the Fiction & Poetry Club, Manipur.
The event featured esteemed guests from the literary and academic circles. Longjam Joychandra, President of the Manipuri Sahitya Parishad, Imphal, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Dr. Heisnam Budhichandra Singh, President of the Fiction & Poetry Club, presided over the function.
Guests of Honour included Sahitya Akademi Awardee Yumlembam Ibomcha, Former Dean of the School of Humanities at Manipur University Prof. Nahakpam Aruna, Associate Professor of the Manipuri Department at Manipur University Dr. Wahengbam Kumari Chanu, and eminent critic and translator Laishram Memo. Their presence added prestige to the event and highlighted the significance of the newly launched books.
In his address, Longjam Joychandra lauded Ningombam Nando Singh for his contributions to Manipuri literature, emphasizing the cultural and educational value of his works. Dr. Heisnam Budhichandra Singh highlighted the importance of nurturing literary talent and the role of the Fiction & Poetry Club in promoting literary activities in the region.
