Mahila Kavya Manch highlights Voices of Meitei Women

In a vibrant celebration of Meitei women’s voices, the Mahila Kavya Manch held a Kavi Sammelan at the residence of RK Nayansana on Govindaji Road, Imphal Palace Compound. The event underscored the importance of literary expression and cultural heritage among Meitei women.
Dr. Kshetrimayum Subadani Devi, President of Mahila Kavya Manch, stressed the need to amplify the voices of Meitei women through the platform provided by the organization. “Our literature and poetry are powerful tools to bring out the unique experiences and perspectives of Meitei women,” she stated during her address.
The event was graced by RK Nayansana, Chairperson of the Manipur State Social Welfare Board, who attended as the chief guest. In her remarks, she highlighted the vital role of literary gatherings in preserving and promoting regional languages and cultures.
Salam Tomba, a distinguished Sahitya Akademi Translation Awardee, moderated the Kavi Sammelan. His presence added a significant depth to the proceedings, given his notable contributions to literature and translation.
Dr. Subadani expressed her gratitude to all participants and emphasized the importance of such events in empowering women and nurturing their creative talents. The Mahila Kavya Manch continues to serve as a beacon for Meitei women, encouraging them to voice their stories and perspectives through poetry and other literary forms.
