Zeliangrong CSOs lauds newly appointed Chief Justice of Manipur HC

The Zeliangrong Civil Organisations – Zeliangrong Baudi and Zeliangrong Youth Front has congratulated the new sworn in Chief Justice Siddarth Mridul on his assuming charge as the Chief Justice and Justice Golmei Gaiphulshillu on assuming charge as the Judge of the Manipur High Court respectively.
A statement of the ZB said that there has been record of cases pertaining to different important issues being kept pending disposal for many years in the past which is nothing but ‘’justice delayed is justice denied’’ and quite contradictory to citizen’s trust and confidence and the purposes of knocking the door of the Court, with the hope to get justice. Now the citizen’s are elated with the hope that pending cases will be expedited and justice deliver timely by the sworn in of the new Chief Justice and new Judge of the Manipur High Court.
The Zeliangrong Civil Organisations (ZCOs) urged the Chief Justice and Judge of the Manipur High Court to look into matter of hills district courts particularly Tamenglong District Court which is in a defunct stage by the irregular attendance of required staff due to long distance from State Capital and also because of the prevailing situation in the State that has completely rendered inability for timely cases proceeding. Many cases have been pending disposal due to irregular Court sitting.
“With the sworn in of the Chief Justice and the Judge of Manipur High Court, it is hopeful that Tamenglong district court will also start functioning to to dispense justice. On this matter the Hon’ble Chief Justice is strongly urged to take up the matter seriously and depute suitable and capable Judge(s) for the Tamenglong District Court who can be stationed a the district Headquarter for the sake of smooth functioning of the justice institution”, the ZB said.
