With the onset of the summer season, the Urban Primary Health (UPH) Centre in Sagolband, under the diligent oversight of MLA Rk Imo Singh of Sagolband AC, proudly inaugurated the first Free Medical Camp for the fiscal year 2024-25. This initiative, a cornerstone program of the National Urban Health Mission (NUHM), aims to provide essential healthcare services to the community, building upon the success of similar endeavors conducted last year across various locations within Sagolband AC.
Commencing today, this vital initiative will span across 12 locations within Sagolband, reflecting a steadfast commitment to comprehensive healthcare coverage across the constituency. The inaugural camp, held at Ebudhou Moirang Apokpa Shanglen in Thokchom Leikai of Ward No. 8, witnessed enthusiastic participation from approximately 110 residents of the area.
The Free Medical Camp offered a wide range of healthcare facilities, including free diagnostic tests, medicines, and screenings for early detection of cervical and breast cancer, among other services. This holistic approach to healthcare underscores the dedication of the Urban Primary Health Centre, Sagolband, and MLA Rk Imo Singh towards ensuring the well-being of the community.
In his remarks on the occasion, Rk. Kiran, President of Manipur Peoples Club, Thokchom Leikai, extended heartfelt gratitude to RK Imo, the medical team of the UPHC, and all residents for their enthusiastic support. He also acknowledged the crucial role played by the media in disseminating information about the camp and encouraged continued collaboration for the betterment of public health.
