Imphal, Dec 16: One day discussion programme on the theme “How to Preserve Historical Landmark and Names” was held today at Manipur Pres Club, Majorkhul, Imphal.
Speaking as the Chief Guest Titular King of Manipur, Leisemba Sanajaoba, lauded the role of the majority Meitei people in maintaining communal harmony.
“It is the ability of the majority Meitei to consider all communities as one that no communal conflict arises in the state”, Sanajaoba said.
The titular king then appealed the people of the state not to treat any other community of the sate as inferior to another.
“One should show its high handedness to any other community but should consider that we are the sons and daughters of one mother call Manipur”, Sanajaoba said.
“Meitei community have been maintaining a friendly, brotherhood and sisterhood environment with the different community settled in the valley area as we still respect and follow the ideology left by our ancestor, the integrity, peace and harmony of being one in our State Manipur”, he added.
It might not be wrong to put up that a volcano could have been erupted in the state if Meitei communities disobey the ancestral law of our forefathers, Titular King of Manipur, Leishemba Sanajaoba further said.
Kshetrimayum Somorendro, President of ACOAM-Lup, Manipur, H Ibotombi Khuman, National Awardee, Angom Sukumar, Retired Secretary of Law, Government of Manipur and A Mobi, President of Editor Guild Manipur attended the discussion programme as president and guest of honours respectively.
The discussion programme was organised by All Clubs, Organisations and Associations (ACOAM) Lup, Manipur.
