Tension in Imphal once more remains high after 100s of people from various directions thronged at 2nd and 7th Manipur Rifles Battalions at North AOC and Khabeisoi in Imphal West and Imphal East district today afternoon with motives to take arms and ammunitions. State police along with the personnel of RAF and the Assam Rifles fire several rounds of tear gas shells and mock bombs to disperse the mob.
At around noon, a large number of people including women came out at the road (NH-2) in Chingmeirong and challenge the State force, RAF, and the Assam Rifles troops. The people particularly the women folk sat in the middle of the road and prevented the SF including RAF from proceeding further.
