Taragi Cheisu condemns bombing at Executive Member’s residence

Imphal, June 12:

Taragi Cheisu Chairman Khaidem Mani has strongly condemned the recent bombing of Dr. Mayanglambam Amit’s residence in Brahmapur Nahabam Leikai. Dr. Amit, a neurosurgeon, is also an executive member of Taragi Cheisu. The bombing caused significant property destruction, but fortunately, no one was hurt or injured.
“This attack on our member is deplorable,” Khaidem Mani stated. “If the attackers had any demands or objections, they should have communicated them and sought dialogue first. Resorting to violence is unacceptable and condemnable,” he added.
Khaidem Mani expressed frustration over the deteriorating security situation in Imphal, noting a rise in bombings, threats, and shootings. He criticized the central government’s response on this ongoing conflict, accusing it of “stepmotherly treatment” and pointing out the Prime Minister’s silence on the issue. “Everyone is suffering, not only those in relief camps. The government must act against these rampant acts of violence,” he urged.
He also addressed the recent attack on the advance convoy of the Chief Minister of Manipur, highlighting the lack of arrests despite knowing that Kuki militants were responsible. “The government must take appropriate action or step down if they cannot ensure safety and justice,” he asserted.
Taragi Cheisu has demanded immediate action from the government, calling for those responsible for the bombing to be apprehended and punished accordingly.
