State celebrates National Press Day without CM and IPR Minister

Commemorating the birth of the Press Council of India (PCI), the Directorate of Information and Public Relations, Government of Manipur today celebrated National Press Day in commemoration of the birth of the Press Council of India on this day of 1966. For reasons best known to the department the scheduled celebration which was supposed to be attended by the Chief Minister of Manipur N. Biren Singh was cut short as the Chief Minister canceled the programme after wide circulation by the DIPR.
A workshop under the theme – Media in the Era of Artificial Intelligence was held. The workshop was moderated by Yumnam Rupachandra, Chief Editor of IMPACT TV. Dr. Khumanthem Robindro Singh, Assistant Professor, Deptt of Computer Science, Manipur University, and Thongam Bobo, Sr. Technical Officer, NIELIT, Imphal attended as resource persons.
