SSUM Submits memorandums to CM; Urges to constitute enquiry committee on implementation of work

Imphal, May 10: Socialist Students’ Union of Manipur (SSUM) today submitted memorandum to the Chief Minister of Manipur urging him to constitute an enquiry committee to the implementation of the raw water transmission work from Maphou Dam to Chinkheiching.
In the memorandum it is stated that lack of quality maintenance in the implementation of the work in the laying of the pipeline has created fear psychosis to the people of Imphal East area particularly those in and around Lamlai area as there is possibility of leaking the pipe at any time. The student union also highlighted irregularities in the awarding of works for 2 tunnel project.  
It said that the work is being implemented under the Central Water Commission (CWC) 2015.
SSUM further stated that the union remain quite for some days as it sees some changes with the coming of the new government,. It said that from May 20 onwards the student body will launch agitation if the government fails to hand over the multi crore Loktak Scam to the CBI for investigation.
