SOMPAL celebrates first anniversary

Singjamei Oinam Thingel Meira Paibi Apunba Lup (SOMPAL) celebrates its first anniversary at the Singjamei Oinam Thingel Community Hall today.
Addressing the gathering, Oinam Romen Singh, a prominent political activist from the Singjamei Assembly Constituency, emphasized the invaluable role of Meira Paibis in everyday life. Amidst the ongoing conflicts in Manipur, these women play a vital role in safeguarding the community, not only by performing household duties but also by actively preventing the youth from falling into the traps of substance abuse.
He praised the unique strength and unity of Manipuri women, highlighting their exceptional hospitality and unwavering commitment to protecting their ancestral lands. He commended their collective efforts in ensuring the safety and security of the people of Manipur, noting the noble act of mothers encouraging their sons to become Village Volunteers during turbulent times.
The event was graced by distinguished guests including Laishram Lokeshwor Singh, Mayor of Imphal Municipal Corporation, Akoijam Ongbi L. Kironmala, President of SOMPAL, Oinam Biren Singh, President of E.C. Club, and Dr. R.K. Lenin from RIMS Imphal.
