In the aftermath of a devastating hailstorm that wreaked havoc in Manipur, a resident of Khumbong Mamang Leikai, Huidrom Premila, found herself facing the daunting task of rebuilding her damaged home. However, in a heartwarming display of community spirit, Singjamei 360, alongside compassionate individuals from across Manipur, united to offer aid and support through a special “Thanksgiving programme.”
Singjamei 360 Advisor and Social Scientist, Dr. Dhanabir Laishram, Arambai Tengol Unit 14 Commander Bisho Leishangthem, Lokendro Longjam of Khumbong Mayai Leikai’s Friday Chuhing, Hemanta Oinam, the General Secretary of Imphal West Student Club, and Singjamei 360 Senior Member Eteen Maibam, were among the notable attendees who participated in the event.
Under the thematic banner of “Upal Hinghansi Amadi Yokkhatminashi,” the programme not only aimed to provide direct assistance to Premila but also highlighted the importance of environmental consciousness. Environment Activist Manikanta Mutum led efforts to replenish the local greenery by planting trees, while Miranda Flowers contributed with a donation of flowers, adding a touch of natural beauty to the proceedings.
Singer Sadananda Hamom, Pena Artist Andrew Laiphrakpam, Music Composer Rabisangkar, Folk Artist Benita Laishram, and Dhulop Robert Irom, also attended the event. For the aid, 1394 individuals contributing a total of Rs 5,08,072/- through crowdfunding.
