The Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal today inaugurates Vigilance Awareness Week 2024with the theme “Culture of Integrity for Nation’s Prosperity” at Banting Hall, RIMS, Imphal. This annual observance aims to reinforce the principles of transparency, honesty, and ethical conduct as foundational values contributing to a prosperous and corruption-free nation.
Prof. G. Sunil Kumar Sharma, Director of RIMS, emphasized the importance of nurturing a culture of integrity in all professional and personal dealings. Addressing faculty and staff at the opening ceremony, he stated, “Integrity is the cornerstone of institutional success and national development. We must work collectively to embed transparency, accountability, and ethical standards in our actions to realize the vision of a prosperous and corruption-free country.”
He urged to plan various activities and interactive sessions to educate and inspire participants to uphold ethical values emphasizing the role of every citizen in fostering a corruption-free society. Further, departments across RIMS will conduct sensitization programs tailored to their unique functions within the healthcare system, highlighting the significance of vigilance and ethical practices in medical professions.
The program saw active participation from Prof. N. Sanjib Singh, Medical Superintendent of RIMS Hospital, R.K. Mecolt Singh, Deputy Director (Admn.),Sairem Sarat Singh, CAO/FA, Prof. Brogen Singh Akoijam, Dean (Academics), Sub-Dean, Principal of Dental College, HODs, Nursing officials, faculty members and staff promises to be a meaningful initiative that reaffirms the institution’s commitment to integrity and ethical standards as a part of its core values.
