Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal observed Forensic Medicine Day, 2024 at the Banting Hall of RIMS, Imphal. The function was graced by Prof. G. Sunil Kumar Sharma, Director RIMS, Imphal in the presence of Prof. Brogen Singh Akoijam, Dean (Academic), RIMS, Imphal, and Prof. Th. Meera Devi, Sub-Dean (Academic) RIMS, Imphal. As a part of the observance, a debate competition was also organized on the topic “Medical Consumerism and Commercialization of Healthcare”. Dr. Akoijam Ibohal and Dr. Koijam Sashikumar Singh were the judges of the debate competition.
Meanwhile, Dental Health Camp marks the 35th Anniversary of IDA Manipur State Branch Kakching Khunou, Manipur today. In commemoration of the 35th anniversary of the Indian Dental Association (IDA) Manipur State Branch, a significant Dental Health Camp was organized at Khomdonbi High School in Kakching Khunou. The event was conducted in association with Dental College RIMS and organized by the Development Committee of Kakching Khunou. As part of the camp, oral cancer screenings and free treatments were provided to 200 patients, ensuring that essential dental care reached those in need. In addition to medical assistance, free medicines were distributed to all patients, ensuring they have access to necessary treatments. Furthermore, recognizing the importance of preventive care, toothbrushes, and toothpaste were distributed to children, encouraging good oral hygiene habits from an early age.
“This Dental Health Camp not only provided vital services to the community but also symbolized the dedication and commitment of IDA Manipur State Branch over the past 35 years,” remarked Dr Deepa Ningombam Singh, Honorary Secretary of IDA Manipur State Branch. “We are proud to have served the community for over three decades, and events like this highlight our ongoing commitment to improving dental health across Manipur”. By providing essential services and education, we can empower individuals to prioritize their dental health and well-being.
