Renowned Lyricist B Jayantakumar remembered on 89th Birth Anniversary

On the 89th birth anniversary of acclaimed lyricist B Jayantakumar Sharma, clothing and eatables were distributed to the inmates of Langol Old Aged Home Relief Camp. The commemorative event was organized by Laipubam Ongbi Sobita and her families from Brahmapur Laipubam Leikai.
B Jayantakumar Sharma, revered for his contributions to Manipuri music, was fondly remembered for his significant role in crafting the state song of Manipur, “Sanaleibak Manipur.” His lyrical prowess extended to other hit songs such as “Poknapham Ema,” “Khomlang Laman Singamloi,” “Pamjadre Amuba Jatse,” “Punshi Ngak e Ko Nangse,” and “Nangdi Ayekpa Saktamni,” among others.
In honoring the lyricist’s memory, the event not only paid tribute to his artistic legacy but also exemplified the spirit of giving back to the community. The act of distributing clothing and eatables to the Langol Old Aged Home Relief Camp highlighted the enduring impact of B Jayantakumar Sharma’s work on Manipuri culture.
