Police seizes large quantity of Narcotic Substances at Imphal-Moreh road

Intensifying the ‘War on Drugs’, a team of Kakching Police detected and seized around 1.336 Kilograms of suspected Heroin No. 4 powder and 9.151 Kilograms of suspected WY tablets while checking a vehicle coming from Moreh at National Highway -102 at around 7.30 am today.
According to a Police source, the said seizure was done from a Maruti Gypsy of a team of CDO Unit, Kakching which was posted in Moreh and now under orders of posting to Special CDO Unit, Khabeisoi coming from Moreh at Kuraopokpi near St. Joseph English School on NH 102.
The detection and seizure were affected by combined teams of Subedar S. Birla Singh, OC, CDO Unit, Kakching, Subedar Ksh. Prakash Singh of CDO Unit, Kakching, and SI K. Mothilphun Dangsawa of Pallel Police Station under the supervision of Binoy Chongthani, MPS Addl. SP (Ops) Kakching & A. Romendro Singh, MPS, Addl. SP(CPCR) attached with District Police, Kakching and under the overall supervision of Shrey Vats, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Kakching.
The personnel of the CDO teams are identified as (1) Hay. No 022007251 Kh. Achouba Singh of MPTC presently attached with CDO Unit, Kakching (team commander) (2) Rfh. No, 072006088 Th. Subhash Chothe of 7th MR presently attached with CDO, Unit, Kakching (3) C/No. 1801203 Y. Dineshwar Meitei of Imphal West District presently attached with CDO Unit, Kakching (4) Rfn. No. 062010650 M. Premchandra Singh of 6th MR presently attached with CDO Unit, Kakching and (5) Rfn. No. 062010801 N. Dorendrajit Singh of 6th MR presently attached with CDO Unit, Kakching respectively.
The detained persons along with the said vehicle were searched after observing legal formalities. From the vehicle, 100 (hundred) soap cases containing suspected Heroin No.4 powder and 8 bundles of suspected WY tablets with each bundle containing approx 10,000 tablets. Upon weighing, the suspected Heroin No. 4 powder was found to be 1.336 Kilograms and suspected WY tablets were found to weigh 9.151 Kilograms respectively. A cash amount of Rs. 80,000/-(Rupees eighty thousand only) was seized from the accused person namely Hay. No 022007251 Kh. Achouba Singh. The arrested persons along with the seized articles are handed over to OC, Kakching Police Station for taking up further necessary legal action.
