Police now have confidence to the govt. ; intensifies drive against narcotic drugs

Govt. commitment to stay of the police drive against illegal narcotic substances and to ensure full support to the law enforcing agency has encourage state force to intensify drive against narcotic and other illegal substances. Chief Minister N. Biren Singh and his government support to the NAB team who had arrested a Chairman of the ADC which also belongs to the BJP showed that the government is serious on drug smuggling related crimes which encourage other law enforcers in carrying out their job as they now believed that there will be less political interference.

The BJP Manipur Pradesh has also suspended the Chandel ADC Chairman Lhukhosei Zou from the primary membership following the seizure of the large quantity of narcotic drugs. Lhukhosei Zou however tried make himself escaped from the claw of the NAB saying that the drugs were seized from the room of his driver and he has nothing to do it. But his clarification is still yet to be looked into as there are enough evidences with the NAB team to prove that he is also one among the king pin of drug racket in the state.

Following the arrest of the high profile politician ,  a combined team of IE district CDO and Narcotics cell IE under the direct supervision of Addl SP (ops) M.Kumarjit led by Dy.sp Ops Rk.Charles conducted a search operation at a godown nearby Kshetrigao Meena Bazar Idgah road today.

During the search ops,   SP tablets, N10, Rs 4.5 lakh Cash (approx), Huge amount of Banned items like Win cigarettes, Godzilla mosquito coil and many tobacco items were seized along with a 407 Tata.

Counting of the items is underway.

Assam Rifles team also seized contraband items worth Rs 40 Lakh

Moreh battalion of 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR, (South) recovered contraband items namely 305 kgs of Ginseng and 18 kgs of Pangolin Shells worth approximately Rs 25 lakh and Rs 15 lakh respectively on 20, Jun 2018 at around 1000 hours. A total of Rs 40 lakh contraband items were recovered from Zoulenmoul village, Moreh, Tengnoupal District. Ginseng and Pangolin Shells recovered were handed over to Forest Office by the team of Moreh battalion for further action.
