PHED Minister laid foundation stone for augmentation of Water Supply source at Ukhrul Headquarter

Foundation stone laying ceremony of the project Augmentation of water supply source for Ukhrul district headquarter was laid by PHED and CAF/PD Minister L. Susindro @Yaima Singh here today at Water treatment plant, behind Ava Market, Ukhrul.
Source from Ukhrul PHED informed that the augmentation of water supply reservoir project was to be taken up at the cost of rupees 6 crores under Chief Minister special package.
Minister Susindro on his speech stated that this Water project which will be supplied through the perennial water source from Shirui village is supplied by Shirui village and not by the PHE department so Ukhrul should thank the Shirui villagers as they will be supplying the water free of cost.
Moreover, you need to form a Village level water sanitation committee and other committee on water through the concern MLA so that water problems may be tackle in time, Susindro suggested.
To save water we should refrain from random cutting down of trees and recently the news of Shirui village order for complete ban on hunting is a welcome step I really appreciate such a good initiative, the minister encouraged.
The minister also assured and declared the congregation to issue one Water tanker vehicle for immediate requirement of Ukhrul town.
During the programme two newly recruited employees were given appointment letter personally by the Minister.
Amongst other the programme was attended by, Qr. Kashim Vashum, Minister, Transport and Veterinary, Ibomcha Singh, Lamlai MLA, Qr. Ram Muivah, Ukhrul MLA, Qr. Shangreiphao Vashum Chief Engineer, PHED, Secretary, Ukhrul DC and SP, DLO’s , CSO’s of Ukhrul district, villages headman and well wishers.
Before departure from Ukhrul the visiting Minister and his team also visited Hunphun/ Ukhrul at Rashing hall where the team was warmly welcome by the Hunphun village authority, Ukhrul Executive Council, Hunphun Shanao Long and Hkl.
