Imphal, Sept 21:
The Lamyanba Irabot Ninsing Thouram Observation Committee (LINTOC), under the supervision of the Protection and Preservation Committee, Manipur (PPCM), in collaboration with the Manipur University Students’ Union (MUSU), organized a People’s Convention today. The convention, titled “Lamyanba Irabotna Pamjaramba Apunba Manipur Amagidamak Houjikki Manipur,” took place at the Commerce Hall of Manipur University, Canchipur.
The event was attended by Ph. Nando Luwang, Convenor of the Protection and Preservation Committee, Manipur (PPCM), Kh Gopen Luwang, Convenor of the Lamyanba Irabot Ninsing Thouram Observation Committee (LINTOC), K Thoiba Meetei, Co-Convenor of LINTOC, Y Khomba, Co-Convenor of LINTOC, L Shyam Khuman, Co-Convenor of LINTOC, and Th Sonamani, President of the Manipur University Students’ Union (MUSU), who served as presidium members.
During the convention, Professor Naorem Joykumar, Retired Head of the Department of History, Manipur University, delivered a speech on the life and achievements of Lamyanba Irabot up until 1948. Gunachandra Kakchingtabam, columnist, also discussed the activities of Lamyanba Irabot from 1948 to 1951.
