The Pangal Community of Jiribam staged a mass protest rally in Jiribam to save guard the integrity of Manipur.
The rally was jointly organised by All Manipur Muslim Organisations Co-ordination Committee (AMMOCOC), Jiribam District Committee, Progressive Meitei Pangal Society (PMPS), Jiribam, All Jiribam Meitei Pangal Women Association (AJMPWA), Meitei Pangal Women Development Welfare Association (MPWDWA), Rainbow Club, Islambad, Jiribam, Oriental Club, Babupara and Choukhat Khongthang Club, Chingdong Leikai, Jiribam.
The protest rally was held at Babupara and Islambad, Jiribam where masses of Pangal men and women participated in the rally with the slogan Long Live Manipur, Save the unity of Manipur, Save the territorial integrity of Manipur.
Speaking with the media persons Abdus Sattar Sajabam, President, All Manipur Muslim Organisations Co-ordination Committee (AMMOCOC), Jiribam District Committee said that since the ethnic violence broke out on May 03, hundreds of lives lost their lives in the violence.
He added the Pangal community will never accept to break-up the territorial integrity of Manipur. He also appealed to the Central and State government for the implementation of proper mechanism to restore peace and normalcy to the State as earliest.
