As part of the nationwide observance of International Day of Yoga, the Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK),Thoubal and MMRC, Khangabok and NCC Group HQ, Imphal and its affiliated units is also marking observance.
The NYK Thoubal will observe at the MMRC and Unity Park, Khangabok on the 21st June, 2015, while 6500 cadets of NCC will participate in a mass yoga demonstration on 21 Jun 15.
Youth Club Members, Mahila Mandals, NSS Students, Officials and Meira Paibis will be joining hands in the observance of the day. Eminent yoga masters are invited and imparting training to the youth. Prior to the International Day of Yoga the Nehru Yuva Kendra is also organising Block Youth Parliament at Sora Village of Kakching Block, according to a release from NYK, Thoubal.
The event will encompass the complete state of Manipur with four centres each at Imphal West and Thoubal, two each at Imphal East, Senapati and Bishenpur with one each at Chandel, Ukhrul, Churachandpur and Tamenglong. The event is on the lines of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision and will instill the habit of fitness and health in each individual, according to PRO Imphal.
The Rashtrapati Bhavan will commemorate the International Yoga Day on June 21 with officials and family members participating in a mass Yoga event at the Rashtrapati Bhavan Club House early in the morning.
The event is being organized in collaboration with Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga (an autonomous organization under the Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. of India).
Yoga practice classes have been conducted for residents of the President’s Estate from June 1 to 20, 2015 in preparation for the International Yoga Day.
