Mayanglambam Rajkumar, IAS, District Collector and District Magistrate of Chandel, was recognized by the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) for the district’s outstanding performance in implementing the Joint Action Plan on “Prevention of Drugs and Substance Abuse Among Children and Illicit Trafficking” over the past two years.
The NCPCR felicitated 30 top-performing districts in the country for their successful implementation of this Joint Action Plan. The recognition was awarded today to the respective District Magistrates and Collectors by Union Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai.
The event was held alongside a national review and consultation organized jointly by the NCPCR and the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on the ‘Joint Action Plan on Prevention of Drugs and Substance Abuse and Illicit Trafficking’.
The Joint Action Plan (JAP) was developed by the NCPCR and the NCB in 2021, based on deliberations with the concerned Ministries. During the event, a new portal called ‘Prahari’ (sentry) was also launched by the Union Minister of State. The portal aims to streamline efforts made by different agencies to bring paradigm shifts in prevention.
