A team of Manipur PCC comprising of CLP O Ibobi Singh, PCC President, K Meghachandra, MLA K Ranjit Singh & Th Lokeshwar Singh met AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge, Congress leader Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi ji, KC.Venugopal and Bhakta Charan Das at the Office Chamber of Opposition at Parliament of India to bring up the matter of violence hit Manipur at the Parliament Session.
The MPCC team had left Manipur the day before yesterday for New Delhi to meet the central leaders in connection with the crisis in Manipur. The opposition party is moving a no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Modi over failure to solve the crisis in Manipur.
Rahul Gandhi will speak in a no-confidence motion discussion to be held in Lok Sabha on 8 August. He is likely to open the debate from the Congress side in the House tomorrow, according to reports.
Over four months after he was disqualified, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi returned to Lok Sabha on Monday with his membership of the Lower House restored in the wake of the Supreme Court staying his conviction in a defamation case.
Rahul Gandhi’s restoration of the MP status was granted after the Lok Sabha secretariat issued a notice on Monday. Announcing the reinstatement of Gandhi as an MP, a Lok Sabha notification said in the wake of the SC order Friday, the disqualification has ceased to operate subject to further judicial pronouncements.
