The monthly Crime Meeting of Thoubal District Police for October 2020 was conducted today in which the following points were discussed : the upcoming Bye-Election in Lilong and Wangjing-Tentha ACs- model code of conduct, defacement of public properties, deposit of licensed arms, security requirements and deployments etc. During the meeting, case disposal during September, 2020 was also discussed, which, according to records, Thoubal District Police could submit 13 Charge Sheets (CSs) against the target set of 15 and 30 Final Reports (FRs) against target set of 32 FRs. During September 2020, CDO Thoubal seized 40,000 banned World is Yours (WY) tablets, 50 gms of Heroin powder, 73,200 packets of Gudang Garam International cigarettes, 11,500 packets of Dun hill London Cigarettes, 304 nos. of illegal cough syrup bottles, some litres of DIC liquors, arrested 10 drug smugglers, 2 tobacco product smugglers along with 2 Tata Tippers, 2 cars and one 2-wheeler vehicle. The department also collected a fine of Rs. 1,94,350/- for the month of September,2020 from those persons who were not wearing face masks and under MV Act.
The following Annual awards as gifts and appreciation letters have also been distributed: Best Police Station for the year, 2020- Lilong Police Station. Best Investigating Officer 2020- SI N. Sudhir Singh of Thoubal PS. Best CDO Commander- Havildar Md. Kamal Hassan. Best DHQ Thoubal staff- HC T. Ratan Singh of RO staff. Thoubal District Police also bid farewell to Inspector Ajit Singh, OC Lilong PS who has been transferred out of the District.
