Large number of people nearly burnt the office of the Thoubal district BJP office located at Khongjom early today morning.
Report reaching here said that a mob vandalized the BJP office at Khongjom at around 3. am today. The mob vandalized the security barrack as well as one Scorpio vehicle used by the security force parked inside the office. The security personnel fire several rounds of tear gas shells and disperse the crowd. The mob tried to burn the office but the security forces foiled the attempt.
At Wangjing too, the Mandal office of the BJP was also attacked by a large number of people. Flags of the BJP and other documents were burnt by the mob.
The mob earlier tried to burnt the office however as there were many other houses close to the office, the neighbours requested the mob with folded hands not to burnt the office as it would spread to the adjoining houses.
At Charangpat in Thoubal district, a large number of people protested against the present government over its failure to control the ongoing crisis in the state. The protestors burnt the effigies of Chief Minister N. Biren Singh and BJP State President A Sarda Devi at the crossing of Nepara Leirak I Charangpat yesterday evening.
