A large number of candidates who had appeared for the recruitment test of Riflemen and Jemandar for the 10th and 11th Indian Reserve Battalion (IRB) today submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister demanding declaration of the result by October 27 this year.
The recruitment process for the 2 battalions of the IRB started in January 2019 and the viva voce for the 6750 Riflemen candidates have been completed 7 months back and the 416 Jemandar candidates are waiting for viva voce. An organisation called the All Manipur 10th & 11th Viva Voce Completed IRB Rifleman & Written Completed Jemandar Candidates 2019 today organize a protest rally here in Imphal and submitted the memorandum to the Chief Minister. The candidates carry placards with slogans demanding declaration of the result.
In the memorandum it has been stated that the Chief Minister of Manipur had earlier stated that the result of the recruitment would be declared within one month, whereas the result is not declared even after 3 years. It further added that as the 12th Manipur Legislative Election is knocking on the door, the candidates who had appeared in the recruitment test are now skeptical on whether the candidates will get the result or not.   The candidates also warn the government of using the recruitment test as a tool for the upcoming legislative election.
