Meetei Erol Eyek Loinasillon Apunba Lup (MEELAL) has demanded termination of professor M. Mani Meitei, Dean, School of Humanities Manipur University for using the word MEITEI while writing the backdrop of an orientation programme instead of MEETEI. The MEELAL said that Meetei is the right terminology accepted and included in the Manipur Gazette.
The MEELAL said that Professor Mangi was told to correct the wrongly spell words but the professor allegedly justified his act saying that he had written the word Meitei intentionally as he did not believe in the government Gazette.
MEELAL further said that a memorandum has been sent to the Vice Chancellor of MU and if the professor has not been terminated MEELAL will initiate various form of agitations.
