Land for Leprosy and TB Hospital demarcated

According to an order from National Green Tribunal, 0.96 acres of land for the construction of Leprosy and TB Hospital and Rehabilitation center at Lamlongei Langol reserved forest area was demarcated today by a team of officials.
On May 9, Chief Minister Okram Ibobi had visited the area and directed the concerned officials to set up a TB and Leprosy hospital and a center to provide rehabilitation to the displaced families of Lei Ingkhol.
A complaint was filed by a team of Lamlongei Yaipha Thoudang Nupi Marup to the National Green Tribunal against the deforestation and various construction works in and around the reserved forest area on December 16, 2014.
According to an order passed by the National green tribunal to the State Revenue Department to demarcate 0.96 acres of the required land to construct the center on April 13 at 11 am in the presence of the applicants and their counsel.
