Jiribam Police seize consignment of WY tablets

Jiribam, Oct 17:

A Police team of Jiribam District Police seized consignment of WY tablets and arrested one person while checking vehicles by Narcotic cell, Jiribam at Leingangpokpi under Jiribam police station area today.
Police said while conducting frisking and checking at Leingangpokpi, one Tata Sumo bearing Regd. No. MN02A 5349 that was coming towards Jiribam from Imphal side was stopped for checking.
On further checking, one airbag (brown colour) among others was found kept on the roof of the vehicle. In which 10000 nos. of WY tablets was found concealed in a separately stitched compartment of the bag.
The owner of the bag was identified as Thangsianlian (34yrs) S/o: (L) Khailang of Kanan Veng, New Lamka, Churachandpur.
After observing necessary formalities, the contraband WY tablets were seized and the owner of the bag was arrested and handed to Jiribam District police station for further action.
