Jiribam district administration, under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Krishna Kumar, has distributed essential items to those individuals who are now residing in relief camps. The distributed items included grocery items, LPG cylinders, and other daily necessities to ensure the well-being of the camp inmates.
The Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) of Jiribam has been providing a steady supply of drinking water to the relief camps. Meanwhile, routine health check-ups are being conducted daily by doctors and medical staff from CHC Jiribam. Additionally, sanitary kits are being distributed to emphasize the importance of health and hygiene among the camp residents.
The Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) project has been focusing on the nutritional needs of children by providing supplementary nutritious food regularly. To help inmates cope with the warm weather, the district administration also provided stand fans to the relief camps.
Ensuring cleanliness in the camps, the Jiribam Municipal Council has been regularly cleaning the premises. The Zonal Education Office of Jiribam has taken steps to continue the education of displaced students by setting up a temporary school at Bidyanagar Multipurpose Sports Complex. Classes have resumed for 98 students from grades 1 to 8, with the assistance of a headmaster and 23 teachers. Textbooks and notebooks have already been distributed. Plans are in place to establish similar temporary schools near other relief camps as needed.
