JDO call 24 hrs. General strike against the transfer of Jiribam SP

Jiri Development Organisation (JDO) called 24 hrs general strike in Jiribam district demanding to stay the transfer order of Jiribam Superintendent of Police.
Speaking on the sideline of the protest, E. Devan Singh, President of Jiri Development Organisation said that amidst the ethnic conflict issuing the transfer order of Jiribam Superintendent of Police M. Pradip is untimely and unfortunate.
He added, since the ethnic violence broke out on May 03, the S.P and D.C of Jiribam district took vital roles in maintaining peace and harmony.
Such untimely transfer of S.P. seems to disrupt peace in Jiribam, he added.
He also stated that Jiri Development Organisation utter a loud cry to seek the attention of concerned authorities on August 02 for staying the transfer order of Jiribam, whereas the authorities did not heed the demand of Jiribam which is very unfortunate.
He also cautioned, if the authorities fail to heed the demand of JDO, then it might lead to various forms of agitation.
