JAC Langlailu submits memorndum to CM

Imphal, May 9: The JAC against the brutal murder of R Lunglailu has submitted a five point memorandum to chief minister N Biren today explaining in clear terms that her body which is still in RIMS morgue will not be claimed and agitations will be considered if the demands are not fulfilled.
In the memorandum, the JAC charged Khuraijam Inaocha, the husband of Lunglailu and prime accused in the murder of preying on tribal girl students as a teacher, mentioning a previously molestation charge and an affair with two different students  and illicit relation with his sister in law Ashalata. His mother Memchoubi and Ashalata were also subsequently charged with participation in committing cruel acts and ill treatment of the deceased victim.
Thereafter, the JAC demanded capital punishment for the three in connection with the murder. It sought ex-gratia to the next of kin of Lunglailu, his father R Kakhalan within five days, i.e May 14, 2017, with the rider that the body will not claimed until there is an agreement.
It also demanded an official order to ban the relatives of the accused from entering Chingmeirong Rongmei village as to prevent further provocation.
The JAC further asked the government for permission to execute the customary practice of fine or punitive action of Longh Garak, which is the token imposition of fine of mithun or pig as to certify crime control.  It also sought permission for performing the last rites of the deceased at the place where she breathe her last as per the customary practice.
