Suspected militants shot dead a villager

Suspected rebels killed a Villager and indiscriminately fired several rounds from automatic weapons besides lobbing grenades at the house of former Assistant Chief of Ngairong Village under Tengnoupal Police Station in Chandel District today.
At round 4.30 this morning, the suspected militants shot dead one villager after torturing and fired several rounds besides lobbing two hand grenades inside the house of (L) Jialungphun, former Assistant Chief of Ngairong Village.
Apart from shattering Windows glasses, several bullet holes and bomb splinters marks were also seen on the walls of the house.
The deceased person was identified as one S. Walunglow Aimol alias Manglun (50) of Ngairong Village whose house is located near the house of the former Assistant Village Chief.
High ranking police officers along with police personnel and Assam Rifles personnel rushed to the spot on receiving the information of the incident. While a Police team from Tengnoupal Police station led by Officer in Charge of the Station retrieved the dead body for post mortem.
According to the house owner S. Alianchung Aimol S/o (L) Jialungphun (Former Assistant Village Chief of Ngairong) told that the incident happened at around 4.30 early this morning when some well armed suspected militants fired indiscriminately from all directions and lobbed two grenades through Window. And after the militants escaped, we came to know that the militant shot dead a villager near our house, he added.           
S. Athem Aimol wife of S. Alianchung Aimol also told that she showed some well armed militants took position outside the house after she went out of the house this morning.  Dispite one of the militant wave his hand and signaling me to run away from the house, I ran back inside the house as my husband was still sleeping, She added.
She further narrated that soon after I ran inside the house, suddenly there was a burst of gunfire followed by loud explosion. And ducked on the floor along with my husband.
Speaking to the media persons, S. Areng Aimol elder brother of the deceased villager said that his brother was killed after torturing by suspected militants who were working in the interest Aimol Naga as my brother stood against declaring the Aimol as a Naga Tribe by some vested interest persons.
And today, my brother sacrifice and gave his life for the cause of the Aimol who is not a Naga, added the elder brother of the deceased.
