IPSA observes 25th Dark Day

Imphal, Apr 27:

International Peace and Social Advancement (IPSA) and Dark Day Observation Committee 2023 observed the 25th Dark Day, 2023 (Amamba Numit), under the theme ‘The day Manipur lost her sovereignty’ at GM Hall, Imphal today.
Tribute were paid to the unsung war heroes of the Anglo-Manipuri War of 1891.
The day is being observed to mark the day when British forces occupied Kangla after the Anglo-Manipuri war of 1891. The Union Jack was hoisted replacing the flag of the independent kingdom of Manipur on the morning of April 27, 1891. Following this, British forces killed numerous persons by hanging while others were banished to Kalapani and Sylhet.
IPSA President Tourangbam Birjit, MLA Thangjam Arunkumar, Ibotombi khuman National and International awardee, Assistant Director AIR Imphal and Regional News Unit Gin Gangte, Dr Rajkumari Bidyabati Chanu , Thokchom Jogendrajit News Editor regional news unit AIR Imphal, Naorem Joykumar Historian and Kh Luwangcha Chingkhei, Advisor IPSA attended the observance.
