Imphal, April 8:
The Governor of Manipur, Ajay Kumar Bhalla, graced the 11th Governor Rally and Rajya Puruskar Award Distribution Ceremony held at the Durbar Hall of Raj Bhavan, Imphal, today. The event was organised by the Manipur State Bharat Scouts and Guides and marked a significant occasion for recognizing the commitment and service of young Scouts in the state.
During the ceremony, the Governor presented the prestigious Rajya Puruskar Awards to 30 Scouts, acknowledging their outstanding dedication, achievements, and contributions to society.
Addressing the gathering, Governor Bhalla spoke highly of the exceptional commitment, resilience, and spirit of selfless service displayed by the Scouts. He noted that the Scouts movement has silently played a transformative role in society—ranging from participating in environmental campaigns and promoting literacy to assisting during natural calamities and spreading messages of peace and harmony.
He commended the Scouts and Guides for consistently stepping forward with courage and dedication in times of need.
The Governor urged the young Scouts to continue upholding strong moral values, embrace social responsibility, and developmental resilience. Stressing the importance of character building in the digital era, he referred to the “inner net”—a network of values, emotions, and responsibilities—as essential for navigating today’s challenges. He further encouraged the youth to play a proactive role in contributing towards the realisation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
The event was also attended by MLA Kh. Raghumani Singh, Lt. General (Retd.) K. Himalaya Singh, and Manipur Director General of Police Rajiv Singh, among other dignitaries.
