The proscribed group United National Liberation Front (UNLF), led by Koireng, mourns the untimely demise of its ex-MPA cadre, Moirangthem Mangoljao, also known as Keshorjit. A statement by M. Shak-Hen, Secretary of Publicity of the outfit, said that the late Moirangthem Mangoljao, or Keshorjit, was an active member of the MPA, the army wing of the UNLF. His serial number is 243/7, and he hailed from Kakching Turel Wangma. Moirangthem Mangoljao, or Keshorjit, passed away on February 4, 2024, the statement said.
In paying tribute with the highest honour, the UNLF, led by Koireng, stated that Pte Moirangthem Mangoljao, or Keshorjit, completed his Basic Military Training (BMT) as an MPA at CHQ Chumnu camp of United Base Area of the outfit in March 1994 and was allotted MPA service number 243.
“During an unfortunate incident that occurred on June 11, 1995, Pte Mangoljao sustained a serious injury after being hit by a bullet in his spinal cord and remained disabled. As a mark of respect, he was discharged from the MPA,” the statement by cadre M. Shah-Hen said.
The statement further honors the departed ex-cadre by stating that he was one of the most disciplined revolutionaries. Even after his discharge due to physical health problems, he continued to live as an MPA.
