Do not believe the lies and deceit of BJP – TDCC

Thoubal, Sept 20:

The President of Thoubal District Congress Committee (TDCC) expressed concern during a press conference today, stating that the state government seems to be causing trouble and chaos for the people instead of prioritizing their welfare. N Lukhoi, speaking at the TDCC office in Thoubal Athokpam, emphasized that the government should be focused on the well-being and security of the people. However, the current ruling BJP government is creating an unfavorable situation that is causing distress and outcry.
Lukhoi highlighted the significant impact of the skyrocketing prices of gas, petroleum, diesel, and other essential commodities on the general population. The cost of essential medicines has also increased beyond what is affordable for many. Lukhoi accused the BJP of making false promises that they cannot fulfill, essentially deceiving the people and taking advantage of them financially. This situation has led to widespread discontentment in India and Manipur.
The promise made by the BJP government during the 2014 elections to deposit Rs. 15 lakhs in the bank accounts of every citizen, along with encouraging people to open zero balance bank accounts, was revealed to be another deceptive tactic to fool the public. In order to expose these falsehoods, press conferences are being organized by various Congress committees across the country to inform people about the lies of the BJP, the government’s exploitation of the people, and the need to save the nation from such individuals, added Lukhoi, President of TDCC.
Yumnam Basanta, General Secretary of TDCC, also spoke at the press conference, stating that Manipur is currently in a state of turmoil. Basanta expressed surprise and disappointment over the state government’s arrest of five village volunteers, as these volunteers and ordinary citizens are actively involved in the ongoing conflict alongside the state security forces. Despite the public’s demand for the BJP government to step down, their refusal to do so is seen as shameless.
Basanta further highlighted the drastic increase in the price of gas refills since the BJP came into power. During the Congress rule, a gas cylinder refill cost only Rs. 425, which was even considered high by some individuals. However, under the BJP government, the price has skyrocketed to Rs. 1330, causing additional hardships for the people. Furthermore, subsidies for gas refills are now being provided to selected individuals, which Basanta likened to open theft from the public. Basanta found it amusing that the BJP government, during the current election period, has announced a reduction of Rs. 200 in the price of gas, which seems to be yet another attempt to deceive the people. Basanta challenged the government to lower the price of gas refills to less than the previous Congress-era price of Rs. 425 if they truly have the courage to do so.
In conclusion, Basanta urged the people not to believe the lies and deceit of the BJP and to work together to save India and Manipur from the clutches of the BJP.
