Demonstration by MSPDCL and MSPCL exam completed candidates at CM’s residence

IT News,
Imphal, June 16:

All Manipur State Power Development Company Ltd (MSPDCL) and Manipur State Power Company Ltd. (MSPCL) exam completed candidates have staged a demonstration today in front of the official residence of Chief Minister N. Biren Singh in Imphal. They gathered to protest the prolonged delay in the announcement of examination results for various positions within these state-run companies.
The protest, initiated with a rally through the streets of Imphal, underscored demands for transparency and expeditiousness in the recruitment process. This comes after examinations conducted by the government in 2019 aimed to fill 907 vacancies across eight different posts at MSPCL and MSPDCL.
Initially halted by Manipur police at Nupi Lan Complex, the protesters were later permitted to send a delegation to deliver a memorandum to the Chief Minister’s Secretary. Police reports confirmed that the demonstration followed assurances from Chief Minister N. Biren Singh to release the recruitment results post the conclusion of the 18th Lok Sabha elections on June 4.
Expressing urgency, one protester warned of escalating protests if the examination results are not announced by June 30, 2024. They emphasized the plight of job seekers eagerly awaiting the outcome of their applications.
