Demanding removal of AR, Manipur’s CSOs starts shutting the Central institutions

As a part of the agitation demanding the removal of the Assam Rifles from the state of Manipur, women protestors have started shutting off the central institution in the state of Manipur.
At around 9.30 am today morning large number of people and members of the Singjamei Wangma Torband Kshtri Leikai Apunba Meira Paibi Lup today thronged at National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), Akampat in Imphal East district and locked the gate of the Administrative Block of the Institution and the main entry gate.
Before that Meira Paibis entered the office room of the Director, NIELIT, but as the director was not present at the time, the representatives of the women’s body met the faculties and other office bearers. They were asked to leave the NIELIT complex and later after all were left the women representatives locked the gate.
A representative of the women’s bodies said that unless the Assam Rifles are removed from the state and replaced by another central forces the Meira Paibis will continue to shut all central institutions in the state.
