Congress President Sonia Gandhi appoints N. Bupenda Meitei as Vice Chairperson

Congress President Sonia Gandhi appointed Ningombam Bupenda Meitei as Vice-Chairperson of All India Fishermen Congress under the All India Congress Committee.
Earlier, Bupenda Meitei, who was brought to the Fishermen Congress by Rahul Gandhi before 2019 Lok Sabha election, was looking after the fishermen’s congress in the entire 8 states of the North East India region.
He is also the spokesperson of the Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee.
In a tweet, he expressed his gratitude to Congress President Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi for entrusting the national responsibility on him. He also exuded confidence in the proactive leadership of AIFC Chairman, TN Prathapan, Lok Sabha MP, in bringing a better fishing world with empowered fishing community in India.
Bupenda Meitei tweeted, “I am grateful to Hon’ble Congress President, Smt. Sonia Gandhi ji, for giving me an opportunity to serve India by being a Vice-Chairperson of All India Fishermen Congress under All India Congress Committee.
Without the inspiration of Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, my political journey would not have been possible today.
Under the proactive leadership of Chairman, AIFC, T.N. Prathapan, MP, Lok Sabha, I am confident that the fishing community and future of the fishing world will become better for our nation.”
