Imphal, Sept 8:

Amidst young MBBS aspirants facing a hard time in getting admission to government medical colleges across the nation with failure to reach the cut-off marks after clearing the NEET examination, 21 of 100 MBBS berths in Churachandpur Medical College have found no takers this year even after the second round of counselling.
Report said that only three students have so far enrolled in the Medical college from all India quota which is located in the middle of the Churachandpur town – the epicentre of the ongoing violence in Manipur. Classes for the second MBBS batch are due to start on September 11. The state quota in a medical college is 85%.
Churachandpur Medical College was inaugurated by Union Home Minister Amit Shah in January 2023.
Of the 79 students are from the state quota.
