Imphal, April 13:

The Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) is set to observe its 45th Foundation Day on April 14, 2025. In a statement issued by its Central Committee, the party extended greetings to the people of Manipur and the wider Western South East Asia (WESEA) region. The message also reached out to women’s organizations, civil society groups, intellectuals, public leaders, and various sections of the society, including students, farmers, and workers.
The party paid homage to the fallen revolutionaries and all those who made sacrifices in the pursuit of freedom. It reiterated the importance of remembering those who died in the struggle and highlighted the need for collective resistance against oppression.
The KCP’s message, issued in the form of a “Statement of the Time,” delved into the historical and political context of India’s formation. It alleged that the present Indian state is a continuation of British colonial policies, where various princely states were forcefully integrated post-Independence. The party referred to the Haripura Session of the Indian National Congress in 1938 and the subsequent actions of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel as beginning the coerced integration of states like Manipur into the Indian Union.
Citing a controversial quote by former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill, the KCP questioned the legitimacy and capability of Indian leadership post-independence, claiming the current regime resembles what Churchill once predicted.
The statement also raised concerns about cultural imposition and alleged racial discrimination by what it described as the Hindi-speaking Aryan majority over the Mongoloid and Dravidian peoples of the Northeast and Southern India. It criticized the central government’s response to the ongoing ethnic conflict in Manipur since May 3, 2023, accusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP-led administration of political negligence and using identity politics for divisive gains.
The party condemned the deployment of over 60,000 central forces in the state and held the government responsible for the large-scale displacement and suffering of more than 67,000 people currently residing in relief camps. The report noted that over 258 lives were lost and over 14,000 homes were destroyed in the unrest.
The KCP also linked the ideological roots of the ruling BJP to fascism, citing international historians who trace the origins of the RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh) to European fascist movements. The statement recalled the 2002 Gujarat riots during Modi’s tenure as Chief Minister and expressed concern about the perceived targeting of minorities and marginalized communities.
On a geopolitical front, the KCP pointed to growing Chinese influence in the region, suggesting that the strategic interest of China in Bangladesh could potentially shift regional power dynamics. Quoting Nobel Laureate Muhammad Yunus, the party noted China’s increasing connectivity and influence in South Asia, especially in light of what it views as India’s declining moral and political legitimacy in the region.
The KCP urged the people of Manipur and the WESEA region to unite and resist what it called colonial occupation and economic exploitation. It called for the strengthening of revolutionary movements to reclaim dignity, land, and political future.
