Imphal, Nov 23: As part of the state wide election poster campaign launched by BJP Manipur Pradesh, workers and sympathisers of BJP Keirao Mandal on Wednesday conducted a poster campaign at Thiyam Konjil village in Keirao Assembly constituency.
Four aspiring BJP candidates of eastern side of Keirao Assembly constituency namely Ningthoujam Itomba Meetei, Salam Lala Singh, Thongram Gope and Thongram Tony, and convenor of Social Development Committee, Keirao Kendra eastern side Salam Hemba led the poster campaign.
Speaking to media persons, Social Development Committee Keirao Kendra eastern side convener Salam Hemba said that Keirao assembly constituency, particularly the eastern portion, is the most neglected part in the state during the 15 years congress regime in the state.
Fed up with the Congress misrule and the MLAs representing the Keirao A/C, people in the eastern side of the constituency have unanimously decided to project an MLA from the side who would ensure sparkling all round development and wipe out the prolonged communal politics plaguing the communal harmony among the Meetei, Muslim and tribal communities in the constituency, Hemba asserted.
He maintained that local clubs, organizations, village authorities both in the hill and valley of the constituency have recently formed an apex body and pledged to extend unflinching support to one of the four aspiring candidates in eastern side who deserves BJP ticket.
The poster campaign started at around 8 am. During the campaign, volunteers of the BJP Mandal appended the lotus symbol of BJP along with various slogans like “Save Manipur, Vote for BJP.
