Bangladeshi Meiteis aid Manipur, reinforcing bonds amid conflict: PWF

In a heartfelt gesture, the Bangladeshi Meitei community has extended significant support to Manipur, showcasing the enduring bond between Meiteis across borders. The Patriotic Writers Forum (PWF), Manipur, highlighted the solidarity shown by Bangladeshi Meiteis in these challenging times.
Apu Ngangbam, Dijen Ngangbam, and Rajib Konthoujam, who traveled from Bangladesh to Manipur at this juncture, highlight that the connection between Meiteis in Manipur and Bangladesh remains strong. Since the onset of ethnic conflicts in Manipur, PAWF Secretary Rakesh Naorem has received Rs. 1,75,000 from these individuals, which was promptly deposited into the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
For the second time, the Bangladeshi Meitei community has provided financial aid by collecting funds for the Meiteis in Manipur. PAWF’s statement emphasized that the gesture transcends monetary value and speaks volumes about the enduring relationship between the Meitei communities.
“Keeping this in mind, the PWF shows profound respect for the Meiteis of Bangladesh,” stated Rakesh Naorem. The forum expressed deep gratitude for the solidarity and support extended by their Bangladeshi counterparts, reaffirming that the bond between the Meitei people remains unbroken despite geographical distances.
