Bandh crippled life in Yairipok: JAC demand action against SDPO

Imphal, July 20: 48 hours bandh called against the construction of Power sub-station at the campus of  Yairipok Aided High School and Yairipok Govt. High School has crippled normalcy at Yairipok area. Since early morning today large number of people including students of both the schools came out at the street and prevented vehicular movement be sitting across the road.
Speaking to media persons, members of the JAC present at the protest site said that the bandh is being called to stop the construction of the power sub-station as according to the resolutions adopted in a public meetings held on June 20 and 22.
They demanded the sub-station to be constructed somewhere else, but not inside the school campus.
He further added that during the protest the SDPO of Yairipok brutally assaulted two students. The 2 students sustained minor injuries and were admitted at Yairipok CHC. The JAC demanded immediate action against the SDPO who had assaulted the students.
