Awareness programme on drugs abuse held at Bishnupur district

A one-day awareness program on Drugs entitled “community outreach and identification on dependent population” was conducted at Advance Intermediate College, Moirang Thamnapokpi Bishnupur, today. The program is organized taking the advantage of  reopening of educational institution in post-Covid unlock situation,  
The program was a part of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Campaign Bishnupur District aiming to make the district free from drug menace. J.Jotish Singh DSWO Bishnupur, K. Pradipkumar chief Functionery Social Upliftment Association, L. Suranjay secy PARDA, and Dineswor Singh vice-principal of the college were the presidium members.
During the programme 50 students of XI standard participated the program.
At the end of the program the gathering declared the Advance Intermediate College to be  a Psychoactive substance (Drugs)  addictive substances which are harmful to physical and mental health in their life.
The speakers empathized that for controlling the drug menace, community should be aware about drug users issues with empathy and bring the users  at  “ Integrated Rehabilitation Centre for Addicts”  (IRCA)  which is a MSJE supported centre to avail free treatment and counselling services.
