AMCTA joins country-wide protest on July 29

All Manipur College Teachers’ Association (AMCTA) today joined the country wide protest demanding the withdrawal of the undemocratic UGC guidelines dated 6th July, 2020 which is giving mandate to the universities to conduct and complete the term end examination of UG and PG by September, 2020.
The “Joint Forum of Movement on Education (JFME)” which composed of AIFUCTO; Federation of Central University & College Teachers’ Associations, All India Federation of Retired University & College teachers’ Organisations; All India Confederation of University & College Non-Teaching Employees; All India Federation of Elementary Teachers’ Organisations; All India Forum For Right to Education along with Students’ Organisations and Parents’ Associations College teachers under the banner of AMCTA (All Manipur College Teachers’ Association) staged the country-wide protest on demanding the withdrawal of the undemocratic UGC guidelines dated 6th July, 2020 which is giving mandate to the universities to conduct and complete the term end examination of UG and PG by September, 2020 and urging the MHRD and UGC to frame an alternative mode of examinations” a statement said.
“In view of ever expanding Corona danger in the larger part of the country, keeping in view, the life of the students JFME & AIFUCTO have demanded withdrawal of the guidelines and also suggested alternative mode of evaluation. But MHRD and UGC is adamant and adhering to its position. Student community across the country is worried due to the adamant attitude of the MHRD & UGC. AIFUCTO is firm to stand with students. In this regard, JFME had organised a webinar of all concerned on the issue to senitise the public opinion”, a statement by the teachers’ body said.
