AKRUCO bans entry of armed man at Kongba area at night

IT News
Imphal, May 16:

All Kongba Road United Clubs’ Organization (AKRUCO) has strongly condemned the recent incident of locals being subjected to torture by unidentified armed individuals at the Kongba Nongthombam Leikai Club ground. In a press release issued today, AKRUCO announced that no armed groups would be allowed to enter areas under its jurisdiction after 8 PM without prior consent from local clubs and Meira Paibis (women activists).
This decision from AKRUCO comes in response to a violent attack on club volunteers that occurred at 8 PM yesterday. According to AKRUCO’s statement, “unidentified armed individuals traveling in a Scorpio and Gypsy vehicle arrived at the Kongba Nongthomam Leikai Club ground and brutally assaulted and tortured the youth club members who were present to repair the ground, without provocation.”
In an effort to prevent such incidents from happening again, AKRUCO has implemented this ban, the statement further explained. It also warned that “any armed individual entering the area without permission from the local club or Meira Paibi would be held solely responsible for any ensuing consequences.”
Furthermore, the statement highlighted that “these armed men should know how to distinguish and identify who is a friend and who is a foe.”
