Aged lady died while waiting for pension

In yet another shocking news, an old age pensioner today died at first MR ground while waiting in queue to get her share of pension which is being distributed by the department of Social Welfare department. The lady, aged about 69 years, identified as Irengbam Purnimashi, wife of late Kalachand of Khagempalli Panthak Ningom Leirak, probably died of stroke unable to bear the long queue which kept the aged person waited for hours to get their pension.
Social welfare department has been distributing the old age pension for beneficiaries of 16 assembly constituencies since the last couple of days at 1st MR ground. The first day showed lots of criticism to the nature of distributing the pension as many aged people were seen harassed by the social welfare authority. Instead of comforting the aged people the department made them waited for hours without providing them proper accommodation to get their share.
Each pensioner was entitled to get a sum of rupees 4,800 for 1 and half years.
Witness said, the lady Irengbam Purnimasi was seen fainted at around 12.30 pm and as people notice bloods streaming out from her mouth she was immediately rushed to RIMS casualty where she was declared dead.
MLA L Ibomch who also rushed at RIMS blamed the dead of the lady to Social Welfare Department authority. Speaking to reporters at RIMS, MLA Ibomcha said that he had already appealed the department to stop harassing the aged people in the name of distributing the pension.
