38 parties have confirmed their participation in the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) meeting scheduled to take place in New Delhi today. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced that the meeting will be chaired by BJP National President JP Nadda and attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Notably, the NDA meeting will witness the presence of new BJP allies such as the Shiv Sena, led by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, and the NCP faction, led by Ajit Pawar. Additionally, Chirag Paswan, the leader of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), and Upendra Kushwaha, the founder of the Rashtriya Lok Janata Dal, have already confirmed their attendance.
During a press conference held in New Delhi yesterday, BJP President JP Nadda emphasized that the NDA’s influence and scope have expanded over the years due to the effective governance provided in the past nine years. Nadda stated that the NDA alliance is not solely focused on acquiring power but is dedicated to serving the nation and strengthening it. He described the alliance as unbreakable and steadfast, with unity based on the best interests of the country.
Taking aim at the opposition, Nadda criticized their coalition, highlighting the absence of leadership, intention, policy, and decision-making power. He dismissed the opposition alliance as merely a photo opportunity. Meanwhile, on the second day, 26 opposition parties are gathering in Bengaluru to devise a joint strategy to collectively challenge the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
