Why Govt. still not declare COTU and its supporters as outlaw group

The unregistered body called Committee on Tribal Unity (COTU) which is one among the organizations inciting communal tension and provoking violence in the state of Manipur leaving thousands of innocent people internally displaced in their own home has now imposed an economic blockade in both National High Ways connecting Manipur and the rest of India from yesterday midnight and the thousands of security forces deployed by both central and state government has failed to give a befitting reply to the economic blockade called against the law of the land.
Tens of thousands of Para military, army, and central forces besides the state security forces have been deployed in the aftermath of the violence that erupted on May 3 and even after around 200 days the government machinery has failed to put the crisis under full control.
In a press statement, the so-called COTU has called economic blockade from midnight of November 15 along the two national highways – NH 37 and NH-2. Reason – their demand has not been fulfilled. The organization which came into existence to propagate the violence in the state had blamed the government over one matter another. The first was the demand of the Meitei people for inclusion in the list of the Scheduled tribes under the constitution of India and now they have reasons for the demand with other causes. The demand now by the COTU and its associates supported by the armed wing under the suspension of operation with the government of India today demanded a separate state from a ‘separate administration’. Now the so-called COTU is blaming the government for justifying their action of calling the highway blockade over the arrest of their two colleagues.
It is just days after the government of India had announced 9 armed groups as outlaws. The government has reason to declare those armed groups outlawed, but why the same government has not announced the same organization which has been no difference in waging war against the government of a state, which is a part of the Indian union by declaring war and by shattering the right to life of the people of a state of India.
It is unfair, and discriminatory if the COTU and its support group are not declared as ‘outlawed’’.
